Trailhead taxi
There are unlimited possibilities for walking, trekking, and mountaineering in the Sierra Nevada. Having years of experience in mountain guiding we can take you to some real gems. If you want to do a linear walk, we drop you off on one side, and pick you up on the other. You only want to walk downhill? No problem, we get you somewhere up high and point you in the right direction. Planning a multi-day hike like crossing or traversing the High Sierra? We can drop you off on one side, far away from any surfaced roads, and pick you up on the other at an arranged time a few days later. Or you want be dropped off in a remote location and walk back to civilization yourself, we will arrange it. You can hire us just for transport, and we will give you all the advice and support you need. Or: if you prefer, we can provide full guiding services for your walks as well, enabling you to really get off the beaten track, without worrying about getting lost, or missing out on some hard to find gems. We are also more than happy to suggest routes suitable to your fitness, the time of year, or any other requirements you might have.
Mountain Bike Taxi
Want the cake and eat it too? Forget about the hard work of cycling steeply uphill – simply enjoy the downhill part after being taken up to a high vantage point by our mountain bike taxi service. There is an endless choice of forestry tracks and walking paths that are suitable for mountain biking in the Sierra Nevada. We are happy to make some suggestions and take you off the beaten track, or to take you to one of the better known downhill routes. We can take you up to a height of over 2200m (7500ft), drop you off, point you the right way, and you can enjoy an exhilarating down hill cycle. Routes from one of our high starting points back to Orgiva, for example, can involve a descent of over 1500m or 5000ft in height! We are also happy to be there as a back up vehicle in case of mishaps, or to wait for you somewhere on the way with a prepared lunch, and/or to pick you up at the end of the day.
Ski Touring Taxi
The Sierra Nevada is a paradise for ski touring – when the conditions are right. It’s amazing how few people do it here. Once you’re away from the ski station or the area around Mulhacen, you are almost guaranteed to be the only person on skis around. We can more or less guarantee to find you a blank canvas on which to draw your lines. Our capable 4×4 means that we can literally take you right to the snow, if conditions are right, or at least as close as possible.
Remote Beauty Spot Taxi
Finally, if you just want to get away from it all (or from the intense summer heat at lower elevations during the summer months), simply lie in the sun or shade, cool down in a river pool, watch birds or other wildlife, set up your easel and sketch your surroundings, read a book or do some Yoga in an isolated spot – you tell us what you are looking for, and we will find the spot you want, drop you off and pick you up, or tell you how to walk back.
